Hand stripping
Hand stripping is a word of English origin and actually consists of two activities.
One is fur care, i.e. removing dead hair, the other is actually the hand stripping, i.e. smoothing the fur, correction and shortening with a trimming knife, trimming stone, trimming stick.
Dogs with wire and stringy hair are used to hand stripping. This type of fur is mainly characteristic of terrier breeds, hunting dogs and schnauzers.
The wire and thread - that is, the rough! - fur protects the animal from the weather, from the thorny bushes of impassable terrain.
We emphatically emphasized that the word hand stripping does not mean balding! As already mentioned, by hand stripping we mean the operation, when old hairs are removed from dogs with wire or stringy hair. The current breed standard prescribes what a dog's coat should be. Before the layman begins to "finish" his pet, it is advisable to study the standard description.
